FIND AND CONNECT WITH ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE DRAWING THE LINE
Below are a list of organizations that are working to challenge the existing practices of our education system and striving to reimagine better learning experiences and outcomes for us all.
VIRTUAL TEACHER COMMUNITY
TeachUp is a virtual community for educators seeking resources and support to become self-empowered, effective advocates. Join in for weekly discussions, collaborative creation, solution-focused feedback. Together we are learning how to use our values, skills, and identities as teachers to upwardly educate and affect meaningful change.
Refuse to Return
Refuse to Return is a coalition of educators and concerned individuals committed to resisting all return to school campuses until counties report no new cases of COVID-19 for at least 14 days. We have organized dozens of online communities across the country, where educators and supporters discuss new research, local developments, and methods of resistance. We vocally encourage educators to collectively withhold their labor to demand from our local, state, and federal governments the public health and economic relief measures necessary to stop this pandemic.
National Workplace Bullying Coalition
The National Workplace Bullying Coalition is a non-profit, established in 2014, with the goal of assuring dignity at work for all workers including educators. The NWBC focuses on the elimination of workplace bullying, but also advocates for other issues impacting workers. The NWBC together with the Badass Teachers Association has engaged in developing a series of webinars, guides and studies to help to protect workers health and safety during this pandemic.
